The Lancashire Lanes Run

Following the great success of the 21st Anniversary run in 2001, Preston & District MG Enthusiasts have decided to make it an annual affair. From now on known as "The Lancashire Lanes Run", the club will try to make it as interesting and varied as before.

The 10th Annual “Lancashire Lanes Run”

Open to all MG & Classic Cars.

2010 date has now been confirmed as Sunday the 19th September.

In 2009 the run was a 90-mile tour of picturesque Lancashire, starting & finishing at the Boat Yard canal side public house at Riley Green, near Preston.

In 2007 we started the run again from Samlesbury Hall but then finished at Hoghton Towers where the 19th Classic Car and Motorcycle Show was being held.

Our chosen charity was Guide Dogs for the Blind.

In 2006 we decided to copy the format of the previous year starting and finishing at Samlesbury Hall and finishing off the day with a BBQ held on the Archery Field.

In 2005 as this was our clubs Silver Jubilee year we changed the format of the event. Starting and finishing at Samlesbury Hall and finishing off the day with a BBQ held on the Archery Field.

In 2003 & 2004 we started and finished at the Waterfront Pub on the Preston Docks

In 2002 we started and finish at Astley Park in Chorley and included entry into Astley Hall which dates back to Elizabethan times.

Our chosen charities were Guide Dogs for the Blind & Derian House.

In 2001 to celebrate the clubs 21st anniversary we decided to organise a run. This started from the MacKenzie Arms in Bamber Bridge which had been the very first meeting place when the club was formed in 1980. The run finished at Leyland bus and truck museum where there was a buffet and 21st anniversary cake.
